I assumed leftzero@lemmynsfw was you? Since you replied to my reply to them as if it was you.
Maybe not tho lol Idk, both have zero in the name so it made sense xD

I guess? I would also guess your genAI is more of the NSFW variety then an LLM given your alt and what I’ve seen federated from your server xD
So I definitely treat LLMs like enhanced search, have gotten wrong info but it pointed me in the right direction, in those instances it’s still helpful as long as you know it very well will provide confidently inaccurate info
I’m a different person then who you were replying to, I know that LLMs do hallucinate/lie/make up sources, but you can quickly check if the sources are real
Spoken like someone who never even tried to use an LLM and just parrots the bad things they hear online.
Lemmy is full of LLM haters, I get where they’re coming from but they take it to the extreme every single time.
Back around android 3-6 it was more common, really hasn’t been a thing for a while IMO. Have non-daily driver Oneplus 5t and 6t, both Lineage os 14, they work well.
I bought maytag washer/dryer oddly only the dryer is “smart” and it is just notifying when it’s done, but it works just fine without internet as well. Looked around a good bit before we landed on Maytag and they’ve been great for the few years so far we’ve had them, however it’s just my wife and I, not a ton of use compared to a whole family so ymmv
Take it a step further, bundle it with a bunch of other subprime loans and then pass it around like a hot potato.
Good ol Dunning-Kruger effect
I’ve had people at the company I work complain about it internally.
I’ve been paying for it for a few months now, I like it. You do have to be a more deliberate in search results, especially if you’re looking for location specific info, but that’s how old Google was too anyway. The summerize site and fastGPT features can be pretty useful too.
Just a silly example, I was playing skyrim and wanted a duplicate item so I could display it, put in “skyrim console command to spawn item” and it spit out the console command perfectly
Maybe they’ll reverse course with enough blowback, they did that once with ryzen already, don’t remember which Gen it was but it wasn’t going to be backwards compatible with certain type of mobos, but then they released it anyway and some mobo manufacturers did provide bios updates to support it.
Similarish situation could happen here, the biggest hangup I’d think is that the 3000 series is nearly 5 years old, and getting mobo manufacturers on board for that could be difficult.
There kind of is, software changes and things need to be updated by comparison, your windows example is a double edged sword, there’s a lot of bloat and Microsoft can’t make changes that might be beneficial on windows because of all the backwards compatability layers and services they generally leave in. It’s good and bad in it’s own way.
Definitely fair, I was moreso thinking of an example similar to the ADHDmemes discussion about how bad our Healthcare system is in general, I’ve seen similar things to that and then someone from another country come in and clearly be irritated that the discussion happened.
I personally blocked feddit and a few French communities because I can’t speak German or French lol, if it was in English I might be interested in seeing the discussion even if it’s not directly relevant to my personal life. 🤷♂️
Yeah it’s really annoying that USA people talk about USA problems on the internet, then you have to call them out for living in the country they live in and complaining about the problems they deal with. It completely blocks out any other discussion from people living elsewhere because… Reasons?
/s
I really don’t get this, like is the implication that other countries have problems too that are blocked out in mainstream communities because there are simply more Americans here?
It’s not like we’re specifically trying to snuff out any discussion of other countries/cultures issues, we’re just dealing with the shit we have to deal with.
Cpus are already good enough for terminal display, why would I want a GPU? ;)
Kagi has a fediverse search option, kinda nifty, wish it wasn’t an either/or situation tho
Not just drivers, no https://fileinfo.com/extension/sys
Right but I’m not sure why you said, “It’s not a hard concept” when the person was responding to the headline that says they lost market dominance, when that seems a bit misleading.
Their point was clearly that they are still the majority out of all other companies in comparison, just not the most compared to literally the aggregate of all other manufacturers.
The funny thing with that, I haven’t seen a term taken like that from a tech company though.
Xerox is the only one I can think of that came close, Googling at this point…
