It will only help the earliest of beginners. If java 1.1 included this i would understand, but at this point I don’t see it

They all require the template processor to be specified, but I’m likely to convert hundreds or thousands of lines of existing string concatenation to templates in one of my projects and I really appreciate that the only \{ that show up will be the ones I create.

I’ve noticed the same thing. “Undefined” should be a valid language but isn’t in the list. I can comment/post via the web app if i set the language each time but I haven’t been able to with jerboa.

18.1 just came out Thursday, right? I don’t know what the issues were with 18 but a lot of other servers were waiting for 18.1, too. It hasn’t been actually been much time.

The latest versions of Jerboa require lemmy 0.18.+

Lemmy still lacks good moderation tools, from what I’ve heard.

The user UX could use some work too. I’m pretty comfortable now, but getting set up subscribed to the communities I wanted wasn’t straightforward. And I keep expecting my !community@server.tld links to work even though (I think) I know how to do it.

I think it’s likely to spike again when the api goes dark. I haven’t been back there, is any consensus forming regarding whether people will use /r/rust, !rust@lemmyrs.org, or !rust@programming.dev going forward?

I don’t think that lemmygrad is particularly problematic as a federated instance and I would be disappointed if I could no longer access it. I’m also a newcomer but I haven’t 08heard of them brigading or trolling other instances. Although I don’t know that I’ve seen any posts on it or comments by its users, the fact that other instances aren’t defederating from it makes me think those aren’t issues that they have.

They’re views are pretty radical, but I just briefly skimmed their front page and I don’t see anything that makes me want them inaccessible.
