I have my USB’s disabled as well, but I was talking averages here.

They do want people in their game, they just don’t want them to have any influence.
Compared to something like VSC, yeah JetBrains IDE’s take a while to boot up. But if the alternative is Visual Studio, they’re amazingly smooth.

Back when I was still on Reddit I used Joey which, if a user commented more than once in a thread, their username would get the colour of the first “level” on subsequent replies. Any other username, including first comment, would be white/black (depending on night mode).
I’ve missed that feature on all alternative Reddit, and now Lemmy, clients I’ve tried.

I can understand the remote start from the app being a paid thing for sure.
But why would it need to be? The connectivity from the app is there already, it takes the manufacturer very little to handle the occasional web request. Especially if it can be done for free through third party software.

Big names attract followers, whether you like it or not. A certain name being on a certain platform may be the deciding factor for a hundred others. So it becoming easier to post everywhere, giving others more choice, is a good thing.
