People accepted unobtrusive ads, it’s once they started taking over the actual content that they became a big no-no. The ad companies and ad-reliant websites fucked themselves.
20 years is very nice, how recyclable are they after that though?
There’s an entire table on there.
Oh no! The poor multi-billion dollar football leagues are losing out on pennies from people who cant afford extortionate subscription services! Quick, take legal action!
Piracy is a service problem.
As you said. it’s not false, but it is deceptive.
People should be reading the small print though, or in this case an FAQ.
There’s a place for more strict regulations on advertising here though. You shouldn’t be able to make out a product is one thing in the headline, then tell us it isn’t further down the page.

I’m not a fan of modern web design at all and by extension of this design, but the idea is a good thing for practice!

League just doesn’t have that many ‘traditional’ cheaters and the game lends itself to server-side AC way more than most. The cheaters in League are more often win-traders at high elos and smurfs in low elos. Also lots of feeding and trolling. So I have no idea why they are adding Vanguard, a good reason to stop playing the game though.
I don’t think having to swap sections on the app to use server and use messages will ever be a good change, the update added a lot of extra steps to find information. The original app worked like their desktop app, so it’s natural to use either, whereas now it’s completely different, crazy what was going through their heads with it (well money, trying to sell cosmetics).
But if you don’t mind it, that’s fair.
There’s been a lot of little things over the years, adding clutter and moving buttons around for no apparent reason. The usability is still pretty good overall, I avoid the community side mostly anyway nowadays and just use it to speak with friends. Most notably recently with the mobile app change, god that thing is the perfect example of shitty UX, luckily the old APKs still work.
I’d love people to move on to a more privacy respecting option, but getting people to move is an almost impossible task and the options arent all that great at the moment.
Yes, never put anything online that you might ever want to remove.
I actually did subscribe for it initially when nitro first became available, but they made so many shitty decisions that they no longer deserved my money.
It’s a bit of fun mate.
League has a much bigger problem with smurfs and toxic behaviour than it does cheaters to be fair. Adding kernel anticheat to it is strange. There’s lots of account buying, sharing, win trading etc that is more prevalent and something vanguard cant fix, but Riot have never been good at focusing their efforts.
They are just looking for an argument/confrontation. It’s why I didn’t respond further.
There’s still plenty of BF3 servers popping. Unfortunately not a lot of rush. Rush made that game, but for some reason people want to play conquest on it instead…
The point is, we are enjoying free content without any advertising and monetisation slapped on. If that happens, then we just leave, we are not demanding free content, we just consume it because it exists. The donation model is the only one that works in this space, or this space fails as another attempt at capitalism where it wasn’t needed or requested.
