    No, what there has been is an increase in an already prevalent phenomenon (see: mass shooters) of blaming mental illness and/or personality disorders for abusive, violent, and flat out fascistic actions, when they don’t actually cause those, it’s just so much easier to do than to think more deeply and/or critically about the systems and structures that don’t only enable, but encourage such behaviour, especially in those with privilege and power (because actually mentally ill people are much more likely to be victims of violence and other abuse, than perpetrate it).

    Using diagnosable conditions as shorthand for “abusive” or “toxic” or “harmful” or “violent” or “racist” or whatever else, is ableism. It deepens already existing and harmful stigmas, prevents people from seeking help and support and being open about their struggles, and actually puts them at greater risk of further abuse just for being diagnosed the way they are, even if they’ve never hurt a fly.

    In short:

    “Are you saying that murderers are right in the head??”
    No there’s definitely something wrong with someone’s way of thinking if they can justify killing innocent people, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that they have a mental illness.
    Extremist beliefs isn’t a mental illness.
    Bigotry isn’t a mental illness.
    Entitlement isn’t a mental illness.
    Hate isn’t a mental illness.
    Having a dysfunctional moral compass isn’t a mental illness.
    We need to stop categorizing all these things as some undefinable “mental illness” and start looking at what we do as a society to develop and justify these things to a degree where people use them to justify killing.

    Dehumanization is something you Have to look for. If the murderer doesn’t see the person they killed as a person, then mental illness is probably not the main factor there.
    Plenty of people murder women, poc, lgbt people, people of other religions etc. because they don’t see them as people.
    Think about genocides - they aren’t perpetrated by big group of people/a government who all got mentally ill together the same way at the same time somehow, they just didn’t consider what they did murder because they didn’t see the victims as people.

    Ceaseless cooperation in numbers beyond those of our immediate tribe- or family-sphere is not a trait that is found in humans.

    “reality” is what capitalism has indoctrinated you to think it is, meanwhile in actual reality, humans are and always have been hardwired to cooperate

    and there is no outside disruption from anywhere else that doesn’t subscribe to the ideal

    lol, so you acknowledge that attempts at communism couldn’t have succeeded because capitalism wouldn’t allow it (because capitalists consider communism, or any cooperation that isn’t for profit, an existential threat, which is precisely why they invest so much in to making people like you think it’s not only a bad idea, but an “impossible” one).

    You can try as hard as you like to evade actual reality, and the fact that capitalism is not only guaranteed to, but is already literally destroying humanity and the planet, or you can keep licking its boot that is not only stomping on your neck, but on all our necks, because you’re too scared or even unable (but definitely privileged enough to still find comfort in it - we aren’t all that lucky) to think outside of the box it created for you, but falling for the propaganda will never make you right, only demonstrably easily manipulated, and wilfully ignorant and resistant to change (when you refuse to even try to understand, let alone seriously contemplate the alternatives, you don’t get to dismiss them since you clearly don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about)… That’s a you problem, not a communism (or even “reality”) problem… ¯\(ツ)/¯

    he problem with that and most other proposals for whatever other moneyless utopian society is that they all implicitly require some manner of all-powerful central authority to ensure that the rewards get distributed, the labor gets allocated, and the rules stay followed.

    that really isn’t the case…
    Communism by definition is not only moneyless but also stateless and classless (if there is an “all powerful” anything - it isn’t communism).
    anarchism by definition abolishes all hierarchy, so again, no one person or even group gets to a point of having any significant power over anyone else.

    In both cases (which are the two most notable far left ideologies I would say, along with socialism which is inherent to both) not having an all powerful central authority is literally the point.

    Except smoking for 30 and getting cancer is in no way comparable to exploiting and completely depending on others’ labour to amass wealth and power, only to claim yourself “independent” once you made it.

    I would also argue that the one who created the post in his defence is the one in the so called “frenzy”, not the people responding to your prompt with a reality check lol

    Only the person who assembles your car doesn’t have massive fame and fortune, which you contribute to by not only paying for their work, but not speaking out against whatever abhorrent thing they did you’re choosing to overlook (while an assembly person isn’t the one profiting from the sale of the car they built, nor do they have any power or reputation that lets them get away with whatever they want) to facilitate them continuing to abuse others.

    Nurses in white dresses

    The Towering Inferno was on the other night and there was a nurse, not at the hospital, but one at the scene in a white mini dress, having to bend down to care for people on the floor. That shit is so impractical, but gotta maintain that male fantasy I guess… 😂🤦‍♀️

    I have seen doctors use them, but never keep them on unless they are.
