Yeah, I see nothing but tesla disses on Lemmy.
Yeah, I see nothing but tesla disses on Lemmy.
I kill bugs all over the place. Only a matter of time before I take my neighbor out.
No but seriously, the torturing animals thing is a big sign.
Uhhh, yeah, no idea where the “food is scarce” came from, we’ve got so much food in developed countries that we could easily feed the whole world with it.
I only used Jerboa, but sync is far superior. Jerboa was so glitchy, it worked about half the time. Sync is very smooth and the developer is on it about fixing any glitches that may pop up. I’ve been using lemmy with jerboa since reddit closed the door on 3rd party apps, and I couldn’t be more relieved to have sync back.
I want to upvote you for your rational take on nazis but downvote you for calling so many people awful.
The hate for anyone who weighs ideas no matter which team they’re from is very transparent.
Yeah, I think the behaw one deffederated lemmy.ml, which I signed up under. I just made an account under a different instance to see their stuff.
It’s hard because everyone 100% has a different definition for every political party/leaning. I’m proud of you for sticking to being open to consider all points if view.
I’m a leftist, but I love having my views pushed against, and I am open to having my views changed on what I believe and think if I find the argument persuasive enough. It really is a sort of cancer that both sides tend to refuse to even consider they might be wrong on anything.
Keep on doing you, the downvotes don’t mean your outlook politically is wrong or bad.
Sorry, this is the case on both sides. I’m a leftist, and I see it happen from my side all the time. Deflecting and claiming only Republicans do it is ignorant or blatant gaslighting.
I’m called a nazi sometimes from people in my own party. It 100% happens.
As a leftist myself (not a communist), I’ve found that the biggest difference for now is that I’m not seeing censorship against anyone politically right of Bernie Sandars, (other than downvotes). I don’t care if Lemmy leans left and/or commie, but I hate it when someone behind the scenes decides whether or not I should be able to debate/talk to my political opposites. The reddit censorship was super frustrating, especially when the goalposts of what’s offensive keeps moving.
This isn’t an issue on Jerboa
Well, connecting gets harder in the sense that we’re no longer all forced together into the same space, but phones have added a severe second layer to that. It disconnects us from those physically around us in order to digitally connect us with people not physically present.
Prior to phones, eye contact was pretty frequent. More small talk between strangers happened. People were far more aware of those around them. That’s just not the case now.
Again, smartphones have brought a lot of good to our lives, but the physical connection to people around us has been paralyzed. It really is sad, and I’m sad that it’s not something I’ll ever experience again: a space that physically connected. I’m sad that younger generations will never experience it their whole lives.
The one thing that really makes me sad about common cellphone usage is the lack of face-to-face connection. It’s a trip because I went through middle and high-school without smart phones, everyone did. I miss those regular, everyday connections with people.
Those that haven’t gown up a significant amount of time without smartphones don’t think the difference is that severe, or that the connections we’ve replaced them with are the same or superior, but it just… isn’t.
Kinda like how when we contribute our time to our jobs, we’re rewarded with… money?
Lol
