But this way offers a new paradigm in upward revenue stream dynamics.
It did not fit the criteria to be included in the experiment.
I used the latest release of each app, but did not include pre-releases. I only included apps that have released an update in the last 6 months
Not only has Eternity not been updated in almost an entire year, but it is still a pre-release (v0.1.2 at the moment).

TL;DR:
When you share a link on Mastodon, a link preview is generated for it, right?
With Mastodon being a federated platform (a part of the Fediverse), the request to generate a link preview is not generated by just one Mastodon instance. There are many instances connected to it who also initiate requests for the content almost immediately.
And, this “fediverse effect” increases the load on the website’s server in a big way.
Does Lemmy not cause this issue? Other federated software was not mentioned in the article at all.
Thanks!
It lost 15 posts on 2024-02-12 (Stamets?).
What does this mean? You are assuming that a particular user deleted their account, taking all their posts with them?
I was hoping for more than just that, but any data you have on !chevron7@lemmy.world would be appreciated!
The amount of times I used to quickly type dnf udpate
was ridiculous. Now, I know I can just dnf up

From their FAQ:
##What platforms does Zed support?
As of now, we only support macOS.
We are a small team, so it’s critical for us to be laser-focused. As a startup, one of our key priorities at this early phase is learning, and right now, we’re focused on the following questions:
- What are the key features we need to get traction on any platform?
- Are our assumptions about our eventual business model valid?
While we’d love to support users on Linux and Windows, adding those platforms doesn’t really help us answer those questions. We’re investing a lot to make Zed portable, but adding other platforms comes with opportunity cost in the short-term and maintenance overhead going forward. Right now those costs don’t make sense for us.
As Zed matures on a single platform, this cost/benefit ratio will shift, and it will make sense to expand to other platforms. We hope you’ll give it a try when that happens.
As a general timeframe, you can expect us to begin work on supporting these platforms after Zed is open source, but before version 1.0. Any news will be posted to our platform-tracking issues.
Linux support is listed on their roadmap.
Interesting prebuilt brand to feature.
Yes, do as I say.
I just wish the Flatpak had a more keyboard/controller friendly UI. Seeking around the current video using KB/controller is fine, but navigating the UI to pick what to watch pretty much requires a mouse.
EDIT: Just change the display mode! Settings > Display > Display mode > TV
In general, or for this particular reader? The Framework fingerprint reader works well.
Looking at the specs sheet, this stood out:
Fingerprint reader (Windows-only)
Does no one else really want multiple USB ports?
Why Ubuntu over Fedora?
We are now offering the MS Linux Introductory CD at a special introductory price of only $249.99 (plus shipping and handling), if you order before it ships.
A bargain in 2003 dollars.
You definitely don’t control the hardware. Someone else at some remote server farm or something does.
But is space (and its resources) truly infinite?
