My kid and his friends use FaceTime instead of calling and will often be on it for hours while gaming. It’s much easier than a call for 3+ people. We are in the US but I imagine they use whatsapp or whatever the same way other places.

I work for a smaller org (less than 50 ppl) and we are generally required to have cameras on in meetings.

The video phone is now facetime, skype, zoom, google meet etc…

This is why we do nightly automatic backups on all sites. Whatever happens we can just restore to the previous night and you never lose more than a day of work. Backup plans and redundancy is a waste of money to management, accounting, and customers until they need it.

Even my Tesla and Prius driving neighbors don’t have solar panels on their roof. The math doesn’t really make sense yet for most residential installations.

You also waste time and gas (if you drive) buying coffee outside your home.

Kcups are less wasteful than a coffee in a disposable cup from a gas station or drive thru every day.

I live in a large city and as of last year I have two choices for high speed home internet. I was paying $70/month for 300/20 with cable, now I have fiber and pay $70/month for 300/300. At least the first year was cheaper as a new customer and the faster upload speed is helpful for work from home.

This is unfortunate, these NUC are inexpensive and reliable for the conference room.
