There are appliance disposal companies who will recover any refrigerant and haul away any piece of large equipment for scrap. It would probably cost about $500 to get rid of a redbox.
If it’s bolted to the concrete or wired directly maybe another $500.
Cost of doing business in my opinion.

Years ago, I tried cities skylines on a sort of shitty PC… spent at least 8 hours trying to get it to work, then just gave up.
Requested a refund and it was granted almost immediately.
I bought a better PC and repurchased, and not it runs fine but the game itself is pretty mod dependent and I have spent more time installing and uninstalling mods than actually playing the game.
So yes, ask for a refund and you will probably get it even outside the 2hour window.

I know we are desperate for content here on Lemmy, and I can google hate circle jerk with the best of them, but maybe just delete the post if it is a complete clickbait lie… you could also reword the post as a fact check, ‘no, google isn’t injecting adds into maps.’

They will still be short staffed and overworked. The company isn’t outsourcing the drive through out of the kindness of their hearts in order to lighten the workload on the employees.
It’s not autism, it’s the word ‘real’ that threw me off. But I don’t know that suspension of disbelief is any better.
Belief is irrelevant, all that matters is what can be tested and demonstrated.
Also I didn’t realize that shower thoughts required metaphors.
I suppose shower thoughts are generally just half baked ideas, and science is magic is quite half baked, so I think we are good.
Science requires that you do not simply start with a belief in something, quite the opposite in fact.
Sure, things that have been demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt may become the foundation for further research, standing in the shoulders of giants and all, but if you are starting with a conclusion you are doing science wrong.
Magic has two common definitions: a trick which is designed to create the illusion that something supernatural has occurred, or an assertion that the supernatural does indeed exist with magic being the ‘evidence’.
As I am sure someone has said at some point, real magic is fake and fake magic is real.
Magic has nothing to do with science, even though someone once famously said that ‘any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.’
Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?
This just in, something that only exists as a sci-fi trope which has never been demonstrated to be even remotely possible is not on the verge of spontaneously emerging from something that is completely unrelated and comparatively unremarkable.
