I think it’s referring to when you’re searching the entire code base(s), as opposed to individual pull requests.

… we haven’t had a lot of luck using general text search products to power code search. The user experience is poor, …
It is?
I would claim you have near zero understanding of how to comprehend anything that you’re reading…
I once paid an electrician to do some electrical work in my house, therefor I am an electrician, otherwise, how would I have working power in my house?
Or a sign you should get a bigger screen 😂 (j/k)
Just use a good GUI tool for git and Google how to do stuff with command line when needed, you’ll eventually pick it up. Chatgpt and it’s ilk can also be helpful with figuring out things when Google fails.
Me too, but people who don’t need to learn to drive often don’t realise how enjoyable it can be, and over time I think that number will gradually increase.
Yep, driving will probably eventually become just another thing most people can’t enjoy…
I think that’s a very long way off though, and will just be another symptom of unrestrained capitalism.
Yeah for sure, it’s called motorsport…
Does it bother you if the driver is driving slowly when you’re a passenger though? I don’t think most people will care that much if thier self driving car follows the speed limit.
Isn’t that just a regular horse?
It’s more that epic have a competing store and Tim doesn’t want to do anything that might help steam gain more traction.
Just release it as an unsupported “beta”. The Linux users will figure out any issues and give higher quality bug reports.
Adding emotes is a different skill set than getting it to run on Linux, but there’s plenty of UE5 games on steam deck already so surely it can’t be that hard…

You can just replace the domain of the url with piped.video
:
Store the image in memory, or in browser cache.
Or make it like 1hr and don’t let the user know the url of the uploaded image until they post it, that way it wouldn’t be able to be shared or reported.
And you’re never going to get an easily maintainable code base without enabling those really good senior devs who can do that. It’s more nuanced than the author of the article thinks, sometimes an unweildly process gets in the way of making changes required to improve maintainability.
