We can’t be having logic and organization here.

We have been consolidating electronics and making them smaller by volume for a couple decades now. Things are getting significantly better at an individual unit level. Reusing and recycling are also good options and should be made more effective. Lowering global populations soon should also help.
A robust and non-ideological non-profit sector is key to any form of healthy capitalist system. That should be an agreeable statement to anyone regardless of if they like or hate capitalism.
It wasn’t during Digg either and they declared victory. It took time to build. Lemmy is currently growing at about 65,000 more posts every day over the last and is on an exponential curve discounting the massive initial spike. There’s been some cleaning of the bot accounts that mess with the numbers a little. https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/dailystats&days=120
As a DJ, I really like that analogy. Dancing by yourself is a worthy endeavor by itself, folks. Put yourself in that place in life.
The interactions around politics still haven’t changed. There are more extreme views here though. It’s interesting to hop from a pro-Russian left conversation about the war to ones where they don’t believe in any regulation at all. More random stuff is rising to the top.
I hope everyone wishes you a very happy cake day on your Lemmy cake day. Everyone deserves to be celebrated.
Completely agree on all points. I think that cities dealt with this quite a bit early on as they grew and they largely have not solved internal conflicts outside of causing people to leave and go to other cities/areas. If we cannot solve it or mitigate it in real life outside of creating dedicated spaces, how can we get after it virtually? Maybe there are some lessons learned from real life that would be easier to implement on the internet.
This thread right here is the reason I think that Lemmy users can be just as toxic as Redditors, They are just dealing with folks now that they disagree with.
Farmersonly is what you are looking for.
Disenfranchisement with the system increases the less people actually pay attention to the system, both in how it functions and what it actually does.
That’s pretty much how insurance was designed initially. Once corporate health plans started becoming the norm it became less about risk and more about having a middle man for everything. It’s actually a huge cause of why things are so expensive now outside of insurance. They don’t actually expect you to pay that.
Respectfully, that’s a good one but I’m yet to hear one that will top Jay Z vs Bach.
“And all she wants to do is dance.” Nobody ever remembers the rest of the lyrics.
There’s a great podcast called Wind of Change on if the government is involved in music and specifically that song. I’ve never seen it and most government programs are highly documented and focused on Hollywood by giving them access to resources. The US Army is not going to let you borrow tanks if you are going to put them in a bad light. That’s just dumb. This is actually one of my dream programs to become involved with on a personal level.
