My ads aren’t targeted, at least I don’t think they are… I honestly don’t notice what they are for most of the time, so that’s a failure right there, they’re not memorable - but when I do notice, they’re for either trump or sports betting, two things which I have negative interest in…
Cars are just full of “problematic” words… Leaking tranny fluid, retarded ignition…
I guarantee when the average person hears “master/slave”
This seems like projection… How do you even begin to have this much certainty about what goes on in any head beside your own?
Can’t we just change “slave” to “servant” and carry on?
Are they still doing that thing where OEMs pay licenses based on units sold regardless of OS? So even if you want Linux, they still have to pay for windows?
5 was terrible. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.
I did that years ago, and they said basically “never”. Then a couple years later all of a sudden, there it was.
pirated
It’s not pirating if you own a physical copy like DVD or Blu-ray, it’s fair use. Fuck the studios for trying to take that away from us.
Noted. When I develop an essential piece of software, I will name it George.
Then they’ll make you get a keyboard subscription…
“Stuck with”? I find open source alternatives far less infuriating to work with than anything Microsoft produces.
What’s the Lemmy equivalent of /r/hailcorporate?
I watched someone make this mistake during a screen share, she hit execute and I screamed “wait! You forgot the where!” Fortunately, it was such a huge database that SQL spun for a moment I guess deciding how it was going to do it before actually doing it, she was able to cancel it and ran a couple checks to confirm it hadn’t actually changed anything yet. I don’t think anything computer related has ever gotten my adrenaline going like that before or since
But those things you’re excluding are the most important parts of the source code…
Depends on the language, really… C maps pretty closely to assembly language, it’s not as simple as one mnemonic to one machine code byte, more like tokens get mapped to sequences of machine code, a function call translates to some code that sets up a stack frame, a return tears it down…
There are dozens of us!
Burn, reddit, burn.
The hell I would…
